My name is Alex Gard and I am a hobby photographer born October 1987 in Tasmania,
Australia. I’ve worked at sea since 2007 and it was there I found a passion for photography and fell quickly into the wormhole of film and large format photography.
These days I’ve cut back my seagoing work to focus more on my craft specifically practicing the Wet Plate Collodion process and fine art landscapes. I’m trying my best to keep my photography honest and free of narrative. My aim is to simply convey in images the world as I see it.
I love photographing Tasmanian scenery and occasionally the people in my life. This blog is meant more as a crude documentation of my learning process and a place for me to keep a sort of technical record of what I do. I will log my trials, errors, disasters, successes and thoughts here. Feel free to check out my website or follow my Facebook page.
My e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or would like to arrange a session.
